CIP’s Healthy Communities Program: Tools and Resources about the Built Environment
CIP, together with the Urban Public Health Network, provided funding and advice to the National Collaborating Centre for the creation of an electronic database of built environment tools and resources, including literature reviews and research reports, that will be available for access by public health officials, planners, and others to support further research and community planning and design.
The inventory is a list of more than 150 case studies, guidelines, tools, and key scientific papers that may be helpful in creating healthier built environments. It is intended to support policy makers in local and regional governments, urban planners, medical health officers, and researchers. Each resource has a brief description that is available in English and French. It can be searched by theme, type of resource, and target population. A free keyword search is also available.
